Puez Geisler Nature Park
A natural paradise between peaks and pastures
A short drive away from our hotel, the Dolomite peaks of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park reach proudly towards the sky at the end of the Lüsen Valley. On one side, the Aferer and Villnösser Geisler tower over the area, on the other, the mighty Peitlerkofel group. This is where unforgettable Dolomite hikes and adventurous mountain tours begin.
Place of power and natural wonder
The nature park stretches over more than 10,000 hectares and offers a spectacular backdrop of steep rock faces, jagged peaks and gentle, flower-filled alpine meadows. Remote valleys and mysterious forests lend the nature park a mystical atmosphere. Here you feel secluded from the world and can sense the freedom and power of nature. The diversity of the landscape awakens the feeling of being in harmony with the earth and the universe - a place that liberates the spirit and reconciles people with themselves and the world.
One of my favourite tours leads around Sass de Putia/Peitlerkofel in the Puez Geisler Nature Park. Rare flowers and blossoms grow on the extensive alpine meadows at the foot of the Sass de Putia/Peitlerkofel, because more species of flowers grow on Dolomite soils than elsewhere.
